About

Picture of myself

Hi, I’m Eron Granneman. I am a freelance graphic designer.

My Theos

Keep it simple. Keep it clean.

When in doubt go bold and live outside the box.

White space is my best friend.

No matter what anybody tells you…color influences above all else.

The most important thing to understand is the story behind the design I am asked to do. Be it a logo or art & graphics for any website – getting the story right is gold.

My Professional Work

I have had the privilege to work for HSU, Sergeant Services, Dr. Larry Fink and Zachry Publications and Connecting Caring Communities, an Abilene local non-profit.

As a graphic designer I have designed and created multiple print pieces via Photoshop and Illustrator such as posters, catalogs, logos, marketing materials, postcards, graphics, magazine layouts through InDesign, corporate branding, and product design and packaging through QuarkXpress.

As a front-end developer, I have created Photoshop web templates, worked through Dreamweaver, and created child themes using WordPress CMS. I am highly skilled in CSS3, HTML5, Javascript and Jquery. *As the years have passed my web work took a backseat as my print focused graphic design jobs increased. Print graphic art is where my heart lives.

My Non-Traditional Education

I consider myself one of a lucky few who got a ‘do over’ later in life. As a non-traditional computer science major and art minor student, I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University Summa Cum Laude December of 2011.

Art had always been in my life, but it wasn’t until this chapter in my life that art became much more.

As a student, I was asked to be the art director for the HSU’s 2011 Corral, was awarded a 2011 Addy for a magazine cover project, won 2nd place for 2D in HSU’s 2011 art contest, was awarded the 2010-2011 Outstanding Computer Science student award and was the student worker graphic designer in 2011 for HSU.
