Chief of Police, Abilene Police Department

Police Chief Stan Standridge has been with the Abilene Police Department since 1995. He was appointed Chief on July 9, 2009. During his time with APD, Chief Standridge has served as Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief. He spent a decade on the SWAT Team, served as a Field Training Officer, and served more than five years as a part-time Internal Affairs Investigator. Chief Standridge is a Master Peace Officer who holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from Midwestern State University, Summa cum Laude. Additionally, he graduated from the FBI National Academy, session 226, and the Leadership Command College, Sam Houston State University, class 59. Prior to his policing career, Chief Standridge served in the United States Air Force, serving two years overseas and two years at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, TX.

Chief Standridge joined CCC’s Board of Directors in May 2010 because he believes the mission of CCC and the Police Department is the same - working together to build a community of the highest quality for all generations. Chief Standridge thanks God for the opportunity to serve the City of Abilene.
