Nathan Adams, CCC Board Member

Missions Minister, Pioneer Drive Baptist Church

Originally from Katy, Texas, Nathan Adams came to Abilene in 2002 to attend Hardin-Simmons University where he studied economics, family ministry, and met his beautiful wife, Meredith. Nathan has had the privilege of serving with First Baptist Church of Katy as well as First Baptist Church of Abilene before he and Meredith found their home at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, where he serves as missions’ minister. Nathan first connected with CCC through volunteering at one of CCC’s Friendship Houses during college. Nathan says the idea of creating authentic connections with people in everyday life and one’s own neighborhood resonated with him, especially as a Christian. Nathan and his wife enjoy the family they have found on their block of Glendale Drive and hope to continue learning and sharing their adventures in “loving thy neighbor” with others wherever they may live. Some of Nathan’s favorite books on the subject of connecting with others include Same Kind of Different as Me, More Ready than You Realize, When Helping Hurts and Ragamuffin Gospel. Nathan's favorite place to unwind and visit with friends is his back porch, but really anyone’s porch will do.
