The colonel began his Air Force career in 1974 as a distinguished graduate of the Texas A&M University ROTC program and graduated from pilot training the following year. He served in a variety of positions including: B-52G/H aircraft commander; T-38 instructor pilot, T-38 flight commander, Director of Operations executive officer, and T-38 section commander; B-1B instructor pilot, flight commander, operations officer, and Wing Commander Executive Officer; B-1B Combat Crew Training Squadron instructor pilot and Operations Officer; 319th Bomb Wing Chief of Safety; 46th Bomb Squadron Commander; Deputy Chief of Air Operations, United Nations Provide Forces, Former Republics of Yugoslavia; Chief, Standardization and Evaluation Division 8th Air Force, Chief of the C4I Management Center and Deputy Director of Operations, Assistant Chief of Staff CJ3, Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea, Yongsan Garrison, Korea, Chief, Aviation Safety Division, HQ Air Force Safety Center and Vice Commander HQ Air Force Safety Center. He completed his military career after thirty years as the Inspector General, 7th Bomb Wing Dyess AFB, Texas.

Mr. Wylie has extensive experience in Combined Operations both as an operator and negotiator. While serving with the UN in the former Republics of Yugoslavia he was part of the team that negotiated a UNPROFOR and Croatia MOA for air operations and airfield use in Croatia. While serving in Korea he was the US Chief Negotiator for reaching a MOA to maintain the Command and Control System for the Combined Forces Command for an indefinite period.

Mr. Wylie is married to the former Tamara Frazier. He has five children Zachary, Dustin, Chase SGT Texas Army Nat. Guard, Lesley Whitely, and SSgt Shane Vaughan USAF. He also has ten grandchildren Joey, Olivia, Jaelin, Wyatt, Hunter, Aubrianna, Madeline, Tenley, Koralyn, and Alex.
